My regular paid work is as an Independent Social Worker for agencies such as CAFCASS, NYAS and Local Authorities. I enjoy all aspects of private law and have made the decision to act as a McKenzie Friend as part of my paid working week.
My hourly rate is £50.00 per hour, this rate reflects what I would expect in the majority of my independent work.
I require payment in advance for each piece of agreed work. As a 'customer' you are free to cease with my services at any point, that way you can keep in control of the charges. I will require some advance notice of court hearings for case planning, as I do have other professional commitments.
Yes I will offer an initial discussion (up to 30 minutes), following consideration of the brief details of the case that you have provided.
I will attend any court within a 50 mile radius of Chesterfield. I have a flat rate of £200 for 1/2 day (up to 4 hours) or £400 for a full day (over 4 and up to 8 hours, inclusive of travel), Full day to be paid up front and balance returned if 8 hours not completed.

No - my experience and qualifications are suited to family law cases. I do not really want to get involved in issues such as financial disputes.

Whilst I am insured as an Independent SW (via BASW), the policy states it does not cover giving legal advice. On that basis the answer is no and you would enter into a working relationship with me, being fully responsible for how you want to run your case.
